Here is a link to a satellite map showing where I live, a rural canyon a few miles west of the much-less-rural Cupertino and San Jose. Here's my house on a snowy day in 2002.

Where do I work?

I work at IBM's Almaden Research Center in the USER group. For several years I pretended to be an anthropologist, following computer system administrators around with video cameras to better understand their work. Lately I've been trying to take that knowledge and turn it into better tools for managing complex computer systems. My work electronic mail address is ehaber followed by shift two then us.ibm.com
